New Product From Canon PowerShots: G11, S90, SX20 IS, SX120 IS, SD980 IS and SD940 IS

Looks like that PowerShot G11 we spotted this morning was indeed the real deal, and it's being followed by five other compatriots announced by Canon this fine morning. Starting with the big boy, you're looking at a 10 megapixel sensor, 2.8-inch vari-angle LCD, 5x optical zoom, RAW support, a hotshoe and an MSRP of $499.99 when it lands in October. Moving on, we've got the $429.99 PowerShot S90, an all-business point-and-shoot model with a 3-inch LCD, 10 megapixel sensor, DIGIC 4 processing...

Microsoft’s LifeCam Cinema HD webcam

For when the world needs to see with pristine detail your cat playing inside a paper bag in the middle of the kitchen, or every blemish on your face as you regale the exciting story of your day, Microsoft's unveiled the LifeCam Cinema HD webcam. The USB 2.0 device captures life in 1,280 x 720 HD resolution at 30 frames per second, with auto focus, 4x digital zoom, a noise-canceling mic on top, and something called ClearFrame for smoother video, somehow. It's not without caveats, of course,...

Sony’s 24.6MP

Sony's a850 DSLR, which looks exactly like the a900, was found lurking in a European online shop both by itself and with a lens kit. The bad part? It might be quite a bit more than the suspected $2,000. Photorumors, who caught the camera, isn't releasing the name of the shop in hopes of wringing some more information out of them, but the a805 was priced at EUR 2,000, which means about $2,860—much more than the $2,000 we all thought the DSLR would cost. It's also suspiciously similar to the...

Incase DSLR Bags

If you havent noticed over the last year, Incase have been knocking their messenger/laptop/skateboarding bags out of the park with products that are equally techie and stylish. Their new DSLR bags are no exception. A cursory scan of camera bags on Amazon will reveal that they all pretty much look like crap from a design standpoint. Yes, they get the job done, but if you're more of a hobbyist and not so much of a photo pro, you still might want to attempt to blend in with the rest of society....

Samsung has a Display in front

We had fun reporting on Nikon’s S1000pj, the first camera with a touchscreen, and it would appear that Samsung is doing something unique with their cameras with the unveiling of the ST500 and ST550, two cameras with a display on the front. In fact, the front display is a touchscreen, allowing the user to touch and take a self-portrait. I suppose this is a response to all those cameras that have the flip out and turn around screens. They usually don’t work well on cameras of this type, do...
