JVC HD EVERIO GZ-HM400 CAMCORDER

JVC introduced its HD Everio GZ-HM400 in Japan way back in late July, but at long last, the time has come for the Yanks in attendance to grab one as their own. Shipping now (as in, right now) here on US soil, the Full HD camcorder packs a 10.3 megapixel sensor, 32GB of internal storage, an SD / SDHC expansion slot and the ability to capture stills at 9 megapixels. Over on the video side, users will have access to a trio of slow-motion recording modes (600fps, 300fps and 120fps), though we...

RAMOS’ Q25IHI TOUCHSCREEN PMP HITS KOREA

This Ramos Q25ihi touchscreen PMP under MuMu Music brand If there's one thing RAmos hasn't been fond of lately it's buttons, and it looks like it's not about to change its ways with this new Q25ihi player, which keeps things about as simple (and familiar) as can be. It doesn't look like the company is cutting too many corners with the parts this time around, however, as the player apparently sports a 3.1-inch capacitive display, along with a G-Sensor for screen rotation and "retro flexion...

EPSON’S EH-TW5500 AND EH-TW4400 FLAGSHIP PROJECTORS

It's that time again: the end-of-year rush to launch the best and brightest home theater projectors for the holiday cocooning season. Epson's casting its 2009 lot with the EH-TW5500 and EH-TW4400 3LCD projectors featuring Full HD (1920x1080) resolutions, a 1600 ANSI lumen brightness, and quiet 22dB operation. The TW4400 (aka, Home Cinema 8500UB as it will be known Stateside) touts a 130000:1 contrast while the TW5500 (aka, Pro Cinema 9500UB) ratchets the hyperbole up to 200000:1  that's about...

NOKIA X6 VIDEO

While Nokia wouldn't invite us to Nokia World this year, we were fortunate enough to discover a pair of its new X6 handsets on the IFA floor here in Berlin. On hand were two engineering prototypes, one of which was peeling away from its plastic shell while the other seemed less responsive to our finger-taps than the other. Still, it's clear that the capacitive touchscreen is far more responsive to human touch than the resistive screens found on its N97, or the 5800 XpressMusic especially. This...

PS3′S NEW 3D MODE CAPTURED

You know what's absolutely useless? A video of Wipeout HD being played in 3D, with some schmuck wearing 3D glasses and babbling on about how much fun he's having. Well, that schmuck is this Engadget editor, the video can be found after the break, and we've gotta say: we loved it. Especially for something like Wipeout HD, whose neon-infused tracks make for an almost too convenient example of rapidly approaching vanishing points, we'd say 3D could really be a quasi-"killer app" for consoles...
