RPJ-2000 PICO PROJECTOR FROM ROYALTEK

Taiwanese company RoyalTek's just announced the first of what will apparently be five pico projectors it releases in 2010. The RPJ-2000 boasts 3M's second generation LCoS chipset, VGA and NTSC / PAL inputs, and 0.5 watt speakers. The projector can project a 65-inch image at 640 x 480 resolution with 14 lumens of brightness. Disappointingly, there is no onboard storage or media player on this little guy, but we're betting one or more of those other models RoyalTec is set to unleash probably...

BUFFALO BUSTS OUT FIRST 12X BLU-RAY BURNER

Sure, your computer doesn't have a USB 3.0 plug, and there's no such thing as a 12x Blu-ray disc for mass consumption just yet, but we shouldn't let those pesky details get in the way of progress. Buffalo just announced the BR-X1216U3, which is the world's first 12x Blu-ray burner, and which incidentally pulls off its wondrous feats through the power of USB 3.0. Of course, it's backward compatible with USB 2.0, for burn speeds up to 7x, but with 12x on the table that's just slumming it. The...

NEWMAN’S A36HD PMP

China's Newman is nothing if not prolific, and it's now introduced yet another new PMP that continues its trend of nondescript designs and limited availability 'round these parts. At just 8mm thick, however, the company's new A36HD device should at least turn a few more heads than the usual fare, and it doesn't look to have cut too many corners to make that happen. That includes a 3-inch, non-touchscreen display, 4GB or 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot for more, support for 720p video...
