PS3 firmware 3.0 locking out knock-off controllers?

Well, here's a bit of a curious situation. As Joystiq reports, it wasn't long after the PS3 firmware 3.0 went live that the first reports of problems started cropping up, with one particularly nagging issue being that some controllers (specifically the CECHZC2H Ceramic White DualShock3) seemed to be locked out of the console once the update was installed. After hashing it out a bit on the official PlayStation3 forum, however, users apparently determined that the controllers in question were in...

Toshiba Camileo HD camcorders

Toshiba's just announced a refresh of its previous Camileo HD camcorder lineup, throwing three new models into the mix, all packing full HD resolution and dedicated buttons for uploading straight to the YouTube. First up, the S20 is an ultra-slim (17mm thick), "style conscious" model with a 5 megapixel sensor for still photography, plus a 4x digital zoom and a 3-inch rotating display. The beefier H30 and X100 models boast 10 megapixel sensors and LCD touchscreen displays, with the H30 boasting...

LG Launching Three Mysterious Windows Phones Soon

It's cool LG it's not like we really need to know model names and BOMs for each of your new Windows phones. In fact, it's completely kosher if you just tease us with launch dates and nothing more. It's not like you've got any rivals out there already sharing a good deal more or anything. And hey, if it weren't for that oh-so-informative blurb underneath the image in your press release, we wouldn't even know that the already-launched GW550 would be amongst the first three WinMo 6.5-packin'...

Buffalo intros 4TB TeraStation NAS

It's been a while since we've seen a TeraStation from Buffalo, and in the meantime the company has been really going wild with the lilliputian memory devices, so it's nice to see something substantial in this space for a change. The latest TeraStation NAS integrates with Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 for up to 4TB storage. Of course, this particular Windows release has been available since late 2006, so we're not too terribly impressed but the company seems to think that it's important for...

Creative announces Zen X-Fi2 touchscreen

Creative's Zii EGG may be snagging the majority of headlines for the company these days, but it looks like it's not about to let its regular PMPs fall by the wayside, and it's now announced its new Zen X-Fi2 player that ditches the few buttons found on the original Zen X-Fi in favor of full touchscreen controls. That, of course, also comes with an increase in screen size (to 3-inches), and a new interface that seems to include a few elements from that patent filing we saw a while back....
