Google Acquires 217 IBM Patents

Not content with the agreement for the acquisition of Motorola, which will ensure access a large number of patents, Google purchased an additional 217 patents from IBM, to protect the Android operating system by new legal problems in the future and contribute to the development of new services.

The new patents cover purchased by IBM in fact some of the technologies for the management of email, online calendars, social networks and the transfer of web applications from different devices. This way Google will expand its portfolio of intellectual property also benefits the partner companies that are part of the ecosystem Android.
