It’s time for a simple prototype Android smartphone operating system developed by Intel, to convince major companies to adopt the new Medfield Atom chip family for their future products. The new Intel chips promise to be much more economical in terms of energy consumption compared to those based on ARM architecture, which so far depopulated between the manufacturers of smartphones and Android tablet.
The Android prototype developed by Intel has a design very similar to that of iPhone but is lighter due to a massive use of plastic instead of metal and glass used by Apple. Intel expects the first smartphone with Medfield Atom chip could reach the market during the first half of next year, is not excluded that some of them are announced next month at CES 2012 in Las Vegas.
