Despite a drop in profits of 23 percent on an annual basis, the Korean Samsung Electronics recorded a turnover of 37 billion dollars, and expresses its satisfaction because of the global economic downturn. As for the mobile telephony business, the Korean company has seen growing sales of mobile phones by 20 percent over the previous quarter, thanks to the excellent results obtained with models of the Galaxy and, in particular, with the Galaxy S II.
On an annual basis, in particular, sales of smartphones Samsung grew by 300 percent, reaching a height of 27.8 million units. With these numbers wins the Samsung’s absolute leadership in the worldwide smartphone market with a share that analysts of Strategic Analytics at around 23.8 percent. Apple rises to second place with 17.1 million of the iPhone, followed by Nokia with 16.8 million smartphones. The company is confident of the results states that fail to get with the Samsung Nexus Galaxy with Android OS 4.0 and the Samsung Galaxy Notes with 5.3-inch touchscreen.
