RIM Prepares Seven New BlackBerry Smartphones Later This Year

Research In Motion has very ambitious plans for the coming months, with plans to launch later this year seven new BlackBerry smartphones to make up the range of produce encouraging results of the last two quarters. The seven incoming smartphone by RIM in the next five months will be based on the new BlackBerry OS 7 operating system and the mobile version of QNX Software, already used on the BlackBerry playbook.

Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, the two CEOs of Research In Motion, explained to shareholders this week that the lack of new material in recent months was due to the need to improve the next BlackBerry to the latest market needs, in particular BlackBerry Bold coming technology in practice jumps from one generation to the current range.
