Apple is looking for a new partner as well as Foxconn Electronics to entrust the production of new models of iPhone and iPad. The move by Apple would avoid having to depend on a single manufacturer, allowing at the same time to increase quality and lower prices.

According to industry sources the company would Pegatron chosen by Apple as a manufacturer to combine with Foxconn and has already been commissioned to produce over the next few months at least 10 million copies of the new iPhone 5. Despite intense negotiations, Pegatron would not have been awarded the contract for the production of the next iPad 3, once again given at Foxconn.
